Grace University Welcomes New Women’s Basketball Coach

The Grace University Athletic Department is pleased to announce Chaia Huff as Grace University’s Head Women’s Basketball Coach. Chaia has a heart for Christian higher-learning and investing in young women through sports. She is committed to developing servant leaders for the home, church and the world through the avenue of intercollegiate basketball. We are confident she will help our student-athletes learn how to succeed on the court, in our Grace community, and most importantly, in life.

Chaia started her coaching career as Assistant Women’s Basketball Coach at Dominican University, an NCAA Division III institution in River Forest, Ill. The past six years she has been the Head Women’s Basketball Coach at Moody Bible Institute in Chicago, Ill. Coach Huff led the Archers to three NCCAA Division II Midwest Region Conference Championship games.

Following the 2010-2011 season, Chaia was named “Coach of the Year” in the NCCAA Division II Midwest Region. During her tenure at Moody Bible Institute, Huff successfully recruited a number of very talented student athletes, four of whom became NCCAA All-Americans. She successfully turned around a losing program and ended her career there with a record of 81-73.

In addition to her coaching responsibilities, she will also serve as Assistant Sports Information Director and an instructor. A native of Normal, Ill., Chaia and her husband, Charles, have two children.
