Grace University Expands Adult Education Program

Jim SantoroGrace University is expanding its EXCEL adult degree completion program because of its commitment to serving students and making Christian higher education more available locally, nationally and internationally.

The EXCEL degree completion program offers professional degrees in Business Leadership, Psychology, and Christian Ministry. Courses are five to six weeks long and classes meet in the evenings or online, making the EXCEL program a great fit for those working full time or serving in the military. Students typically complete the accelerated program, earning a bachelor’s degree, within an average of 16 months.

Grace University is committed to offering a quality, biblically based education at an affordable price. Scholarships are offered specifically for EXCEL students who qualify.

Online classes are being added to accommodate the learning styles of more students. New online classes for the fall semester include Interpersonal Skills, Financial Management, New Testament Survey, and more. Additional courses will be added each semester.

As part of the expansion, James Santoro, an associate professor of psychology at Grace University and a licensed clinical therapist, has been selected as the first full-time director of EXCEL. Santoro has been a faculty member at Grace University since 2005, bringing a broad academic and counseling background as he served as the Director of Undergraduate Psychology.

As the Director of EXCEL, Santoro will be responsible for program development, student recruitment and retention, and staff recruitment. He also will continue in his role as a faculty member but in the EXCEL program.

Santoro has a bachelor’s degree in computer information systems from The Ohio State University, master’s degree in business management from the University of Northern Colorado, and master’s degrees in Community Counseling and Christian Ministry from Grace University. His education, U.S. Air Force career, and his subsequent business and teaching experience make Santoro a valuable asset to Grace University.
