Donor Blesses Music Department

MarimbaGrace University has seen God’s miraculous blessing as we have worked to expand opportunities for our music students.

One of our most pressing issues is being able to train musicians and music educators on the type of instruments they will be using professionally. Our students were in need of a 5-octave marimba so they could play today’s repertoire of percussion arrangements.

For the past 2.5 years, many faithful donors have helped us raise $7,500 to purchase a new marimba. But when we found ourselves needing to order the marimba, we were $5,000 short.

Then God provided a miracle!

God literally brought a donor with no previous relationship with Grace to the campus with $5,000 cash and a $20,000 check in his pocket. God has been telling this man to give and, through this man’s obedience, an important need of our students was met.  Faculty, staff and students had been praying shortly before the donor arrived and provided the money, literally hours before Jeff James, band director, was going to order a less-expensive 4 1/3 octave marimba that would not serve the needs of the students as well.

We are thankful to God and this donor for serving our students as they use their gifts to praise the Lord pass their love of music on to the next generation!
