The annual Masterworks Concert featuring the great music of Grace University choruses, Masterworks Chorus and the Masterworks Orchestra, showcases the work of Stephen Schwartz: Children of Eden. Join us Friday, May 9, at 7:30 p.m. at the Suckau Chapel (840 Pine St., Omaha) on the Grace University campus. Tickets are $5 at the door.
The event is a partnership between 70 students and staff, and more than 40 community musicians. Dr. Greg Zielke, music program director, has led the musicians throughout two months of rehearsals preparing for Friday’s Concert.
There is no better way to celebrate homecoming than by officially opening the doors of a new counseling center to continue Grace University’s service in the Omaha community. The new Grace University Counseling Center and College of Graduate Studies are located in the former St. Joseph’s Hospital building at 825 Dorcas St., Omaha. A ribbon-cutting was held on Oct. 18 to celebrate the new facility.

More than 35 high school juniors and seniors, recent high school graduates, transfer students, and their parents traveled to Omaha for a fun weekend at Grace University. The “Experience Grace” event incorporated the best of what Grace University and Omaha have to offer!
“The ‘Experience Grace’ event was a fantastic way for students to see firsthand how a biblically integrated Christian education fits into God’s call on their life,” said Tara Koth, director of admissions.

The Grace University Band enjoyed a two-week May concert tour in China. More than 20 students and community musicians performed for more than 15,000 people during 11 concerts in four southern cities.
The main component of the trip is creating personal relationships with the Chinese people. During previous trips in 2007 and in 2010, strong relationships were built and the team has seen the impact of continuing these friendships. The Chinese people are very interested in talking with musicians at great length. Taiyuan, Pingyao, Changzhi, and Yuci do not attract tourists or business travelers, so Grace musicians are some of the few Americans people living there may ever encounter.
