Get into the spirit of the season by attending Grace University’s annual Festival of Christmas Scholarship Concert on Saturday, December 6, at 7:30 p.m. in the Joslyn Art Museum, 2200 Dodge St., Omaha, Neb.
The proceeds from the event will benefit the Grace University scholarship fund. The Lincoln East High School choir along with Grace University Chorale, Chamber Singers, Concert Band, and instrumental ensembles will perform. Grace University has seen God’s miraculous blessing as we have worked to expand opportunities for our music students.
One of our most pressing issues is being able to train musicians and music educators on the type of instruments they will be using professionally. Our students were in need of a 5-octave marimba so they could play today’s repertoire of percussion arrangements.
For the past 2.5 years, many faithful donors have helped us raise $7,500 to purchase a new marimba. But when we found ourselves needing to order the marimba, we were $5,000 short.

On a bone-chilling Saturday night, Grace University musicians warmed the hearts of hundreds of people at the Joslyn Art Museum in Omaha.
The voices and instruments of Grace University students joined with the Millard South High School choir to fill the Witherspoon Concert Hall on Saturday, Dec. 7 for the Festival of Christmas Scholarship Concert presented by American National Bank. The Grace University Band is planning to go to China for a two-week concert tour in May 2013! Approximately 27 students and community musicians will tour places including Beijing and Taiyuan with many concerts in Taiyuan schools. Time is set aside to create personal relationships with the people we encounter.
