I am an Adult Degree Completion adjunct prof and SLT director at Grace University, where I have taught for the past 13 years. I love teaching Bible courses and Christian ministry courses. I am originally from the humble nation…I mean, state of Texas. (Please forgive me, can’t all choose where we’re born.)
I have lived in Omaha, NE for the past 26 years. I have one daughter, Michelle, who is a graduate of the University of Nebraska, Omaha, an employee of Union Pacific, and the mother of Jack James, my first grandson. I love sports, especially football, but at this stage of life, I am primarily a spectator of the game. I also enjoy working out, golfing and alpine skiing. I must humbly admit that the steaks here in Nebraska are better than those I remember from Texas! And I do enjoy a good steak from time to time…usually right after I receive my paycheck!
I attend Grace Fellowship Church, a congregation of about 200, here in Omaha where I serve as an elder, and with prayer ministry and discipleship, assisting with Sunday school classes, our website and pulpit fill. My dog, Mazie, part Maltese, part West Highland Terrier, weighs in at a whopping 13 pounds, jealously “protects” my property as if she were a Doberman Pincer, and greets me as if I’m the most important person on earth each time I return home. Reminds me of a prayer I once read…”Lord, make me the kind of person my dog thinks I am.”
Elizabeth, my lovely wife of 37 years is now with the Lord, having passed in December, 2012, following 7 years of younger onset Alzheimer’s Disease.
I am very thankful that I am blessed to fill my time with teaching, church involvement and enjoyable activities.
