Professional Profile

Prior to becoming full time faculty at Grace University, Professor Freeman taught psychology classes at Grace University and Midland University. She worked as Learning Center Director at Open Door Mission, where she also counseled residents with mental illness and chemical dependency. Previous to earning her Master’s Degree in Counseling she worked as an elementary school teacher and has had various experiences in banking and business. She believes that all of her experiences have shaped her into the professional she is today.

Teaching and Related Service

Professor Freeman was an adjunct professor at both Grace University and Midland University. Her passion for teaching and psychology/counseling is emphasized in each class she teaches. She was a Graduate Assistant in the Clinical Mental Health Counseling department at Grace while she was a student 2010-2012. Professor Freeman had a wonderful experience as a Graduate Student at Grace University from 2009-2012 and is excited to be a part of such a wonderful teaching team. Education is of utmost importance to Professor Freeman; she wishes to inspire her students to have a similar love and appreciation of their education.

Research and Creative Activity

Professor Freeman won the Association of Christian Librarians Research Award in May 2012. She has worked on projects with other members of Grace University’s faculty on research and other presentations during her time as a Graduate Assistant. Professor Freeman looks forward to researching and writing more in the near future.

Personal Sketch

Professor Freeman is actively involved at her church, Spirit of Faith. She was a member of the Administrative Council (2012-2014) and served as secretary (2012-2013). She currently serves as Lifelong Learning Director, Sunday School teacher, member of the Outreach Committee, and a member of the youth council. In her limited free time she enjoys spending time with her friends and family. She hopes to continue to be active in her church, her community, and, of course, at Grace University.
