Joel Padin is associate professor of business and Director of the Business & Technology program at Grace University. He came to Grace from a corporate career leading technical groups performing late stage development and product transfer of pharmaceutical finished good and active ingredient products for the United States and international markets. He also led pharmaceutical manufacturing groups in Puerto Rico and US.
Dr. Padin has held various positions of increasing responsible leading Technical services groups, Human Resources and Operations groups in large multinational companies such as Pfizer and Novartis. He has expertise Technology Transfer, Talent Sourcing, Lean Manufacturing and Operations.
As head of the Business & Technology program at Grace, Dr. Padin integrates critical business success factors within a Christian worldview to prepare students to pursue careers in the marketplace as they live out their faith. The foundational principles of servant leadership and a business-as-mission mindset are essential distinctives woven into the curriculum of all Grace University business courses.
Dr. Padin earned a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from Rutgers University with highest honors and a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Michigan. He obtained is executive MBA from the Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan. He holds 4 US Patents and is an author in 10 peer review publications in the subject of gas separations.
