What Degrees Do You Offer?
The Teacher Education Department offers associate, bachelor, and master-level degrees in Education.
Our teacher education Masters degrees exist to integrate education techniques and technology skills with the strong Biblical worldview that students have come to expect from Grace University. Students are prepared to serve both locally and internationally in a Christ-honoring manner – whether they serve in a public, private, or parochial school environment.
Master of Arts in Teaching
The Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT) is designed for those seeking initial Nebraska State Teaching Certification. It is an accelerated, 16 month, four semester degree designed for students who have received a Bachelor’s Degree, have never held a teaching certificate, and desire Nebraska Department of Education Certification.
Endorsement Areas (MAT only)
Our accelerated Master’s of Arts in Teaching enables individuals already possessing a non-educational bachelor’s degree to guide into an elementary education or secondary education career focused on serving 7th to 12th grade students in the following endorsement areas:
- English Language Arts
- Social Studies
- Elementary Education
Master of Science in Education
The Master of Science in Education (MSEd) degree is for the teaching professional who desires to grow in their professional skills and knowledge. It is an accelerated, 16 month, four semester degree for those who already possess (or have possessed) a teaching certificate. It is designed for the professional who desires to further develop their teaching skills, study the latest research in curriculum and instruction, and earn a Nebraska ESL Endorsement.
Master of Arts in School Counseling
The Master of Arts in School Counseling degree is for the current teaching professional who is looking to transition into being a school guidance counselor. It is an accelerated degree for those who have been teaching for at least 2 years. It is combined between the education and counseling departments at Grace University to give the student a solid foundation in professional counseling and education topics as they relate to working in a school environment.

This ELL endorsement enhances your success in teaching in diverse classrooms, improves your marketability and increases your income. You can start your 12-month rotation on any semester.
