Undergraduate Psychology Faculty Position

Grace University, a Christ-centered educational institution, invites applications for the position of Assistant/Associate Professor of Undergraduate Psychology.

Grace University seeks a qualified candidate to serve in the Psychology department and report to the department chair. This position includes teaching, administrative, and advising responsibilities. An expectation exists that the professional will maintain an active relationship within a local church and/or parachurch ministries as well as some involvement in the active utilization of their profession to maintain relevancy to students. The position is a 10-month appointment with possible summer employment opportunities. The salary and benefits package are competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience.

As a program, the Psychology Department has a number of concentrations in various aspects of Psychology which are designed to prepare students to engage in their chosen profession or prepare for graduate education. Additionally, the psychology degree prepares students to be faithful ministers who prepare God’s people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up, equipping the saints for works of ministry (Eph. 4:12).
 This is accomplished by developing students who:

  1. Who possess the ability to apply professional knowledge in their career field,
  2. Who possess awareness of self and others,
  3. Who are able to critically analyze research and professional knowledge,
  4. Who demonstrate ethical and moral reasoning,
  5. Who are capable of doing all of the above in a Biblically integrated manner consistent with a Biblical worldview.

Required Qualifications

  1. A Masters in Psychology or closely related field with a willingness to pursue a Doctorate
  2. Professional experience in the field of expertise
  3. Experience teaching at the college level
  4. Two years or more teaching behavioral science skills
  5. Compatibility with the University’s theological position and campus culture
  6. Ability to collaborate with the existing team
  7. The ability to work with diverse student populations
  8. Effective communication and leadership skills
  9. Unquestioned integrity and in agreement with Grace University’s doctrinal position and mission

Preferred Qualifications

  1. A Doctorate in Psychology (Ph.D., PsyD., D.Min.)
  2. Five or more years of full-time teaching experience at the college level
  3. Three years or more of professional experience in your field of expertise with licensure/certification as applicable
  4. Compatibility with the University’s theological position and campus culture
  5. Ability to collaborate with the existing departments and committees
  6. The ability to teach college courses using a Learning Management System (Blackboard, Its Learning, etc.)
  7. The ability to conduct scholarly research, publish, and perform service
  8. Experience teaching at a faith based institution
