Resident Assistant (RA)
ACCOUNTABLE TO: Student Development Office
LEADS: Team Leaders and Residents
PURPOSE: To assist the Student Development Office in their effort to nurture the spiritual and personal growth of every on-campus student at Grace University.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Preferably Junior or Senior status for upcoming fall semester. Has minimal evening conflicts (i.e. practices, classes, etc.) Demonstrates competence and skills in leadership and teamwork. Currently uphold policies and regulations of the University through an exemplary life. Supports the University's mission and vision in Christian higher education. Has minimal additional employment (up to 8 hours a week, during the afternoon). Minimum 2.5 GPA required. Demonstrates values of community, honesty, respect, appropriateness, accountability, responsibility, restoration. Demonstrates good interpersonal relationship skills. Preferably has previously lived on campus and is taking classes on the Grace University campus the spring semester prior to fall RA responsibilities.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Availability on halls most evenings to build relationships and nurture spiritual growth. Conducts curfew checks randomly as mentioned in the GU Student Handbook. Organize daily cleaning schedule for his/her hall and lounge. Report breakage, damage, or maintenance needs to Facilities and Grounds. IS ON CAMPUS during Welcome Week, Youthfest, Music Fest, and Grace Days weekends. Facilitate monthly hall meetings. Present educational forums as assigned by the Student Development Office. On-Call duties: supervises Dirks Lounge and Royals Court as scheduled (approx. 1 day every 2 wks). Meet weekly with Team Leaders. Meet bi-weekly with gender specific Dean. Train and prepare your Team Leaders for responsibilities on the hall. Attend leadership retreats, training, and other professional development. Cooperate with SDO in enforcing University standards. Decorate doors, bulletin boards according to season, spiritual themes. Report urgent student needs to SDO. Provide information from SDO to residents and vice versa. Provide additional assistance when needed.
- Conduct periodic room cleanliness checks.
COMPENSATION:
- Stipend based on number of residents. Room & Board

Team Leader (TL)
ACCOUNTABLE TO: Student Development Office and Resident Assistant
PURPOSE: To assist the SDO in nurturing the spiritual and personal growth of every freshman and/or first-year transfer student at Grace.
CORE BELIEF: "Student success (spiritually, academically, and emotionally) is directly proportionate to that individual's relational health."
MINISTRY DESCRIPTION: "A Team Leader facilitates healthy relationships primarily among freshmen and promotes critical thinking on topics directly related to student success, while working together with the Resident Assistant to help encourage biblical community on the Residence Hall."
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 2.5 cumulative grade point average (preferred) Sophomore or above status for upcoming fall semester Good interpersonal skills Able to function with others as part of a team Concern for people and their spiritual health Interest in helping people grow spiritually

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Attend pre-fall Leadership Orientation - August 14-16 Attend and participate in Fall 2001 Kick-Off Week - August 17-22 Meet and greet new students - help move in, answer questions, give direction Attend New Student Orientation "Freshman Getaway" - August 18 Meet twice a month with Team as a group Spend time informally twice a month with each individual Team member Meet weekly with Resident Assistant Attend monthly Leadership Development meetings Be on campus during Youthfest and G.R.A.C.E. Days Model spiritual leadership Implement Matthew 18:15-17 in situations of known sin Lead through encouragement
- Support the RA and other SDO staff members through word and deed
