Jared T. Burkholder Conference on Global Engagement

February 23-26, 2015

Keynote Speaker: Dr. Mark & Diane Ellis

Mark and Diane met at Grace on the first day of their sophomore year, both having come to study in preparation for missionary service. For him, it was love at first sight; for her, not so much. Nevertheless, Mark was persistent, they were engaged to be married in the fall of their senior year, and married a month after graduation.

The past 34 years have taken them from working with Native Americans in Canada, to caring for churches in the USA, to planting churches and participating in the preparation of church leaders in Brazil. Mark has taught either on faculty or as an adjunct professor in nine different institutions in Brazil, and founded two others. Apart from homeschooling their five children, all now graduated from colleges and on their own, the focus of Diane’s ministry is discipling and counseling women, and she is in demand as a speaker for women’s retreats and meetings.

They live in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
