In order to borrow books from the Grewcock Library, one must first obtain a library card. University alumni, current students and staff from other Nebraska colleges and universities, along with pastors and staff from local churches are not charged for obtaining a library card. However, a small annual fee of $10.00 is charged to others who want to have borrowing privileges. There is a $15 replacement fee for the keycard that is issued as a part of the library card.
Review the information below for specific item check out information.
Books are loaned for 28 days and may be renewed up to three times unless there has been a request for the material from another person. Reserve books are generally loaned out for two-hour periods for use in the library. Some reserve books may be checked out over night. Reserve materials having a longer loan period have labels showing how long they may be borrowed. Generally, reference books may not be checked out. In rare cases, the library director may authorize reference books to be taken by a professor for use in class. Faculty may borrow books for one entire semester.
VHS and DVD (except ones on reserve) may be borrowed for 14 days. These may be renewed at the discretion of the staff. Audiocassettes and kits may also be borrowed for 14 days (Some instructional audiocassettes may be borrowed for 28 days). These cassettes may be renewed, unless there has been a request for the material from another person. Reserve videos are generally loaned out for three days, if not marked two-hour reserve in the library.
The use of the VCR and DVD player for classroom use is reserved by contacting the library. Other media and presentation equipment may be borrowed for up to seven days.
If materials are damaged, the Library Director will determine the appropriate charges. Any materials which are lost, destroyed, or not returned, will be charged for the replacement cost of the item plus a processing fee of $15.00.
PLEASE DO NOT MARK IN LIBRARY BOOKS. Library materials may be used by many other people. People who mark in library books or periodicals will be fined.
There will be a 3-day grace period on all late materials. After the grace period, a fine of $.10¢/day will be assessed for each day when the library is open. There will be a maximum of $10.00 fine on any overdue item.
Borrowing privileges for library users having materials overdue for more than 28 days will be revoked until overdue items are returned, and fines totaling more than $5.00 are paid.
For reserve materials, a fine of $1.00/day will be assessed.
Students who have access to the internet may use the library's online catalog and databases. The online databases are accessible by selecting My Library from the options available in My Grace Login. Once logged in, the databases can be selected from the right-hand side of the My Library page. PLEASE DO NOT GIVE YOUR GRACE LOGIN INFORMATION OR DATABASE PASSWORDS TO OTHER INDIVIDUALS. Violation of this restriction could result in the loss of availability of the online databases to students.
You may access the Library Catalog on the internet and request materials available at the Grewcock Library by email, fax, telephone, or regular mail. The library will ship books and photocopies of journal articles directly to you (Only for materials available for checkout at the Grewcock Library). Other materials may be available through an interlibrary loan at your local public library.

Library books are to be returned in the mailer in which they were received with the return mailing label sent with the book. Students are responsible for return postage. Journal articles do not need to be returned. Books are loaned for 28 days, and books postmarked after the due date are subject to $.10/day fine for each book. For any questions on these services, please contact the Grewcock Library.
An interlibrary loan is a service that allows for materials not available at the Grewcock Library to be obtained from other libraries in Nebraska and across North America. These materials (circulating books, copies of journal articles, and in some cases audiovisual materials) are loaned to the Grewcock Library for your use. Anyone looking for a specific item via an interlibrary loan must send as much information possible on the item(s) to be borrowed. To request an interlibrary loan, email bbrick@graceu.edu, or fill out an online ILL form on Worldcat or Articlefirst.
In most cases a one-dollar fee is charged for each item requested to help defray shipping costs
