Mark W. Linder is Associate Professor of Biblical Studies at Grace University and directs the Grace LIFE chapel program. After receiving his bachelor's degree in education in 1987, he pursued additional education in economics before joining the staff of Campus Crusade for Christ in 1989. After five years on campus in Buffalo, NY, he moved with his family to San Bernardino, CA, to begin his theological education. While working on his M.Div. and Ph.D. he remained active with Campus Crusade for Christ, teaching and training Christians in Bible, Theology, and Leadership.
Dr. Linder teaches classes in New Testament, Interpretation, and Biblical Theology. Since 2009 Dr. Linder has chaired the committee responsible for the Grace LIFE chapel program at Grace University, providing direction for programming that advances the university’s commitment to creating an atmosphere for student discipleship and life change.
Dr. Linder’s primary research interests concern Paul’s understanding of the church, especially the rhetorical strategies he used to describe its identity and relationship to Jesus Christ. He has published pieces on 2 Corinthians and on the life and scholarly contribution of T. W. Manson.
Dr. Linder lives in Omaha with his wife, Michelle. They have two grown daughters, Heather and Laura. After growing up in Illinois, serving in campus ministry in New York, and living in Southern California during his academic training, he is comfortable watching college sports from any conference in the country. He tries to play his part in tending creation by gardening at home and bicycling for recreation.
