Professional Profile

Dr. Kris Udd joined the faculty of Grace University in 2004 as Registrar and Associate Professor of Bible and Archaeology. He has a Bachelor of Arts degree in biblical languages from Calvary Bible College (1991), a Master of Divinity from Grace Theological Seminary (1994), a Master of Library Science from Indiana University (1996), and a Doctor of Philosophy in biblical and ANE archaeology from Andrews University (2011).

Teaching and Related Service

Dr. Udd serves as the University Registrar. He also teaches biblical Greek and Hebrew, as well as related subjects such as Septuagint and ancient inscriptions.

Dr. Udd is also the University liaison for the Bethsaida Excavation Project, a joint venture directed by the University of Nebraska at Omaha, and for the University's consortium association with Jerusalem University College.

Research and Creative Activity

Dr. Udd's research focuses primarily on the convergence of archaeology and the Bible. His current area of interest is the relation between radiocarbon dating and Bronze Age chronologies in the ANE. His interests include the creation of fonts that replicate ancient manuscripts and inscriptions, particularly in the biblical languages. He also works on the production or reproduction of a variety of ancient inscriptions, mostly Hebrew and Greek but also including cuneiform, which are related to OT history.

Dr. Udd is a member of the American Schools of Oriental Research and the Evangelical Theological Society.

Personal Sketch

Dr. Udd lives near Nehawka, NE with his wife Amy and their five children. A native of Missouri, he enjoys the outdoors, three-wheeling, hunting, knife-making, and is a member of the NRA.
