Professional Profile

Dr. Odom is new to the faculty at Grace. He has served in full-time youth ministry for over twenty years. Dr. Odom earned his graduate degrees from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas.

He is an active member of the North American Professors of Christian Education (NAPCE) and also the Association of Youth Ministry Educators (AYME).

Teaching and Related Service

Dr. Odom teaches courses in the area of youth ministry and Christian ministry.

He is also the academic advisor for students with the youth ministry concentration.

He has served in three churches as full-time youth minister and is currently available for interim ministry positions, guest speaking, and consultation in the Omaha area.

Research and Creative Activity

Dr. Odom's research concerns the use of technology as learning aids in youth ministry. His Ph.D. dissertation examined the use of mobile phones as learning tools for youth. In addition, he has published a chapter entitled, "How to help your student find work and a career," in the new book Accelerate, compiled by Dr. Richard Ross.

Personal Sketch

Dr. Odom lives in Elkhorn with his wife and two daughters. He is from Texas and enjoys watching football (Dallas Cowboys) and spending time with his family.
