Founded in 1943, Grace University is a growing campus in a historic neighborhood between Omaha’s top two tourist attractions. A successful candidate will be able to build a successful, sustainable program from the ground up while integrating this program into the current athletic offerings. Initial plans should be built with the long-term success of the program as the goal. A successful coach will be able to incorporate all details for a quality program from its inception to the start of the inaugural season.

Responsibilities include:
Reporting to the Athletic Director, the Head Coach is responsible for designing the new program, planning, developing, administering, and evaluating the overall performance of the team including:

• Program development—Develop a strong baseball program of significance both regionally and nationally consistent with the overall athletics offerings at Grace.
• Team performance—Teaching fundamentals and techniques to facilitate a competitive collegiate team.
• Academic achievement of athletes—Support athletes, faculty and advisors to monitor grades and assist team in achieving academic success.
• Spiritual development of athletes—Serve as a Christian mentor to students and disciple athletes to help them grow as Christian servant leaders.
• Recruitment—Work with the Admissions Office and recruit qualified prospects who have the spiritual, academic and athletic background to compete successfully in the classroom and on the field.
• Program management—Including events, eligibility, budget management, equipment, athletic training, youth sports camps, community outreach.
• Community Service—Incorporate the team into campus and community activities that strengthen the relationship between the college and the community. Develop sport camps and community outreach programs.
• Communication—Communicate statistics, public relations and event information to appropriate league and campus departments. Provide written reports and annual assessments.
• Compliance—Know, recognize and follow all league and University policies related to athletics, academics and behavior. Report all infractions.

A successful candidate will have a strong Christian character, coaching experience, academic experience and the ability to work in a dynamic, collaborative, and diverse campus environment.  A successful candidate will be expected to contribute to the mission of Grace University. The successful candidate must also provide positive leadership in all aspects of the baseball program and must possess strong interpersonal skills to interact professionally with all internal and external patrons. . Candidates with college experience in baseball and college teaching is preferred. Appointment date as soon as possible.
