Director of Business Department

Grace University, a Christ-centered institution of higher education, invites applications for the position of Chair of the Business Department and Assistant/Associate Professor of Business.

Position Description - Reporting to the Academic Dean, the Assistant/Associate Professor's responsibilities include administering, growing and developing the Business department, teaching Business courses, advising students, and providing service to the University, community, and profession.
The Director of the Business program will:

• Administer, grow and develop the Business program.
• Teach in the Business program.
• Secure and manage adjunct faculty who will teach in the Business program.
• Work with the registrar to establish a regular cycle of Business class offerings.
• Advise students in the Business program.
• Manage the program budget.
• Create, and/or connect with, local businesses and seek mutually beneficial opportunities.
• Serve on various faculty committees.
• Supervise the Business Department’s Job’s As Mission overseas learning opportunities.

Required Qualifications:

• Evangelical Christian with strong emphasis towards integration of faith in education.
• Master’s degree in Business or related field.
• A minimum of five years of experience in business.
• The ability to work with diverse student populations.
• The ability to use and model innovative technology.
• The ability to lead collaboratively with vision and practical perspective.
• The ability to effectively communicate both orally and in writing.
• The ability to establish effective working relationships with faculty, administrators, college staff, and the general community.
• Unquestioned integrity and in agreement with Grace University’s doctrinal position and mission.

Desired Qualifications:

• Experience teaching at a faith based institution.
• Earned doctorate in Business by August 1, 2013.
• Five or more years of experience owning a business.
• The ability to conduct scholarly research, publish, and perform service
• Administrative and instructional experience in a Christian College setting.
